 Last
year I was thrilled to announce that Lucy had created a new cookie mold,
especially after we learned that she had retired the entire line of her
molds. The profits from the sale of the "Our
House" cookie mold were donated to Habitat for Humanity
for Gulf Coast reconstruction after hurricane Katrina. There are still
some available, but quantities are limited.
This year, I am again excited to present a new cookie mold to benefit an organization called Heifer International. This wonderful organization was founded in 1944 with the mission of ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. Rather than just supplying food, Heifer International gives families in need livestock and training in sustainable environmentally sound agriculture. Each family is then required to “pass it on”, by giving one or more offspring from their family’s Heifer animal to another family. And on it goes. This is a long term solution that fosters dignity and self reliance. We all can be part of the solution. When you buy one of the special Heifer and Friends cookie molds, Brown Bag will donate the profits from the sale to Heifer International. This durable high-fired mold depicts a heifer, a rabbit, a sheep and a rooster all together. Each comes with a recipe and instruction booklet tied on with a satin ribbon, and with a letter about the mold’s significance. The goal is to make a difference in as many lives as possible, family by family, cookie by cookie, all of us together. Made in America
