It
was 1982, in a basement workshop, that Lucy Natkiel created
the very first cookie mold inspired by the wonderful shaped almond
cookies made for the Chinese new year. It was called "The Good Luck
Fish". Twenty-three years and over 250 cookie molds later, we'd say
that that fish brought more than good luck. Lucy's designs not only
revolutionized cookie baking, they opened a whole new avenue of
expression for thousands of crafters.
We are
deeply saddened to announce that Lucy Natkiel, owner and creator of
Brown Bag Cookie Art, has decided to retire from the Cookie Mold
business. Her talents will be greatly missed
She created one final mold - her Swan Song,
(pictured here) which quickly sold out. Only 1,000 of these molds were
produced. Each mold was signed (one of only a minor few), and each
booklet was hand signed, numbered and embossed.
